Kanda AVR ISP Programmers
Kanda have been making AVR ISP since 1995, and produced the first AVRISP programmer on the market. As you might expect, we are now pretty good at it! Our range covers all your AVR microcontroller ISP programming requirements, including new interaces like AVR UPDI, TPI and PDI.

We think we have got it right and all our products have been designed to give you the maximum flexibility while remaining easy to use. All our programmers have USB interfaces and are listed below.
Our low cost AVRISP-U programmer is ideal for entry level programming and includes all the features you need, including code buffers, automatic device detection and ISP speed setting, serial numbers, calibration bytes, fuses and Auto-programming functions. It can run from AVRStudio or from its own software.
If you need more features, then our AVRUSB programmer also includes a DLL and command line for integration into your own software or test equipment (ATE). It supports JTAG programming as well as AVRISP and a JTAG adapter is included. It also supports most obsolete AT90S microcontrollers and one PC can run up to 8 of them. Examples are included for VB, C++ and Delphi.
Our new AVR UPDI programmer supports all AVR microntrollers that use ISP, JTAG or UPDI programming, including latest AVRxx families as well as AT90S, ATtiny and ATmega microntrollers. Adapters are included for all programmer interfaces.
Kanda also supply a version of AVR ICE that includes all the leads and cables needed to connect it to STK200, STK300 or STK500 boards or your own circuit using JTAG, ISP or DebugWire. It is also available with our AVR boards.
Atmel have stopped making AVR ISP MKII (ATAVRISP2) so they can sell much more expensive ICE products but Kanda supply a version that has all the same features, works seemlessly from Atmel Studio, uses the built-in Studio firmware updater and has both 6 and 10-way target interfaces - and it is very competively priced.
If you want a standalone, portable and battery powered simple programmer, we have a choice of low cost keyfob programmers and the more robust handheld AVR ISP programmer. Both are loaded from the PC using simple software and USB interface. Once loaded, they are completely portable, battery operated and the handheld programmer can also power your target circuit, if required. They both support AVR UPDI interface and handheld also supports JTAG, TPD and UPDI.
Kanda also supplies AVR training kits that introduce microcontroller basics and how to program AVR microcontrollers in assembly lanuage and C. They include either the simple AVRISP-U programmer or the AVR ICE debugger and programmer and emulator.
